Our child protection policy adheres to local and international child protection criminal laws.
The policy uses a ‘best interests of the child’ principle for all decisions about each child’s welfare, based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1998. This means we take all possible steps to protect the child against all forms of discrimination or punishment due to the status, activities, expressed opinions or beliefs of the child’s parents, legal guardians or family members.
All Directors, staff, partners and volunteers must adhere to our Child Protection Policy and our Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy. We also have a clear process for staff and volunteers to reporting any breaches of our child protection policy.
