Becoming a volunteer for Beyond the Orphanage (BTO) doesn't mean selling your home, heading for the nearest rucksack retailer and uprooting your family to Africa.
Yes, there are some who decide to do that but the majority of our volunteers make real changes to kids' lives from the comfort of their own homes or offices. While hands-on helpers are essential, it is also the expertise of qualified professionals around the world who make our work possible. We already benefit from a small but committed team of professionsal but we always need more!
So how does it work?
We manage our operations across regions and time zones through simple but effective online communications systems. All the professionals who work for us give up their time for free. This means adminstrative costs are kept to a minimum and the bulk of our donated funds end up in the right place - with the CHILDREN.
