Where are we today?

Beyond the Orphanage now consists of a small but highly committed group of people including Emirates staff members and other volunteers who have assisted at Kidane Mehret. Recently we have been joined by professionals with particularly relevant expertise in accounting, law and information management providing pro-bono services to help us to develop a strong organisation structure that can grow to meet the needs of the children and ensure the highest standards of corporate governance. We also have access to the advice of Sister Lutgarda the ... of the Kidane Mehret Children's Home.

We have two offices, one in Addis Ababa which is staffed by Japi and Fikerte, both very experienced in the not for profit sector, and the other in Melbourne Australia. However our members are distrubuted widely and we manage the operations across regions and time zones through simple but effective online communications systems. We are committed to keeping adminstrative costs as low as possible to ensure that the donated funds are used to deliver benefits to the children. This is greatly aided by the provision of pro-bono services by our professional members.
